Hot Question of the Week: What is a great math website for teachers and students?

A co-worker shared KaHoot with me because her students love playing it. I don't know why but for some reason my students really comprehend my lesson when we're playing an academic game. Only then, are they engaged and really get into the lesson. Academic…See More

About Me:
I get so much pleasure from seeing my students having fun and getting excited about math because many students usually find it a challenge. It is extremely rewarding to know you have made a difference in the life of a child. I love this quote because it resonates with me: "When we give with the expectation of receiving something in return, we are not really giving from a pure motive. But when we give from a generous heart, the joy of giving becomes its own reward." So, you see as long as I am a teacher I will continue to work tirelessly to make myself an asset to my students.

Although teaching is extremely rewarding, I sometimes find myself frustrated with the lack of resources at my disposal as well as my limitations in the classroom(55 minutes of class instruction time given). I created Math Concentration so teachers could share best practices and provide free/low cost resources like budget effective activities, incentives, math centers, classroom management strategies etc. Welcome to MathConcentration- a family community where students, parents, and teachers connect. Join our family today and embark on a journey of continuous learning.

Welcome to Math Concentration

Hello, My name is Wanda Collins. I am a teacher and devoted mother of three beautiful children: Camia(7), Ciara(5), and Chris, Jr.(2). I love life, being spontaneous, reading, learning new things, and staying busy. My favorite pastime is browsing the internet while eating a snack. I am currently pursuing an M.B.A at Nova Southeastern University.

I have been in education for the past 9 years and I am passionate about teaching.

In addition, Math Concentration was created to provide free tutoring and homework help to middle school students struggling with math. We offer homework help forums, groups, and an online classroom tutoring equipped with a virtual whiteboard. During our online class session, students can ask questions via chat or call in with our meeting number. You can schedule a tutoring session Mon-Fri from 7pm-9pm

I look forward to collaborating with you!

Happy International Goof Off Day!

Posted on March 22, 2015 at 6:00pm 0 Comments

This is a day to "wild out" and forget about what you're supposed to do today. I found that hard to do. When I set my mind up to do something I like to do and get it over with. However, I did take a couple minutes to goof off with my kids. Nintendo conducted a survey a couple years ago to identify the most popular activity for goofing off. They discovered that the people surveyed chose playing video games as their #1 "goofing off activity." I'm shocked by their findings because these people…

If you are ready for a flood of students asking for math homework help, I would like to put an html button for your site on ours somewhere.   Let me know!

Math Limerick

Question: Why is this a mathematical limerick?
